ZeeBaaS Unveils SurfEDGE 3.5 Knife
December 21, 2009 - Stratford, CT: ZeeBaaS makes a stellar debut into the fishing knife marketplace with the SurfEdge 3.5 Knife. The innovative spirit seen in ZeeBaaS reels can again be seen in this beautifully crafted product. This folding knife has a 3.5 inch blade made of 7CR17 steel - ideally suited to sustain performance in saltwater conditions. The handle is machined from solid aluminum bar stock and is a one-piece construction, unlike many other knives that use stampings bound together with rivets or screws. All other parts are meticulously crafted out of stainless steel.
The knife is equipped with a durable lightweight nylon sheath with a belt loop, and a drainage hole enabling it to be functional in the surf. A lanyard is attached to the knife to keep it secure. In addition, the knife has been designed with an affixed belt clip to be used in lieu of the sheath. Knives are serialized on the steel belt clip. The “spring assist” button allows for one-hand operation to release and close the blade. Another distinct feature is the ability to use the line cutting notch while the blade remains in a closed position

ZeeBaaS Expands
April 13, 2007 - Stratford, CT: Due to the overwhelming response ZeeBaaS received in 2006, and to gear-up for production, the company has moved to its new facility on 335 Benton Street in Stratford, Connecticut. "We started shipping reels in September 2006 and received a warm welcoming from the fishing industry. The ZX2 Series product line quickly became noticed and instantly generated a high level of interest and demand. We expected a great reception, but let's just say, this was a terrific way to kick off our business."
ZeeBaaS grew their square footage by over 700% when moving into their new manufacturing facility. Being so close to the Connecticut shoreline allowed us to test our reels in all types of conditions. The extremes of the New England weather are probably the toughest conditions for any product to withstand. The harsh winter months bring the bitter cold, spring is wet and damp, the summer months are hot and humid, and the fall is just right (especially for stripers). Remember, we're working with many different types of metals, gears, bearings, O-rings, and more. Putting our reels to the test under real-life situations is by far the best way to determine if the product has any limitations or not. |

High-Tech Reels
December 2006 - Milford, CT: As is the case in so many other sporting industries, the fishing industry appreciates the quality and performance of high-tech products. This is clearly proven by the launch and quick surge of demand for the ZeeBaaS product line and the longevity of Van Staal.
One who experiences the thrill and competitiveness of fishing understands the value in selecting the right gear - gear that will be put to the test each and every time...and won't fail. Fishermen are looking for reliable equipment and are willing to spend more - but in return, they are expecting - and deserve - to gain more. Companies strive to develop and position products in the marketplace at a price level that sells, as well as some profit. Unfortunately, businesses have to control costs and often, this means making cuts in quality. Hard plastics are created to appear to be metal, but lack in quality and strength. Bodies of a reel appear to be "cutting-edge" in design, but are nothing more than an enclosure to house the inner workings of the reel. Many bodies allow saltwater and sand to enter and get caught up in the inner workings of the reel, leading over time to failure. These gear systems are poorly designed are not built to perform.
The goal of ZeeBaaS is not only to develop products that out-perform...but to educate the customer as well. As we develop our Web site, new technical content will be added. Owners will be able to turn to our Web site to view step-by-step instructions on disassembling and maintenance of their reels. Our customers will truly get to know their product and be more confident than ever in their decision to choose ZeeBaaS. |

ZeeBaaS Introduces The First Self-Maintenance Saltwater Spinning Reel
September 2006 - Milford, CT: ZeeBaaS hits the market and offers the buyer much more then any other saltwater reel in its class. The ZX2 has been put to the test by fishermen, dealers and publishers and is enjoying rave reviews. ZeeBaaS engineered and designed this line of reels with the owner in mind.
With the ability to customize the reel, fishermen can select from a single or dual line roller system, or a semi-automatic bail system. Users can also select from different spool sizes that fit the same body, giving them the ability to change line weights on demand. Handle options are also available. One of the most impressive features is self-maintenance. Now, the owner can maintain the reels themselves, or if they prefer, bring it to a ZeeBaaS dealer who is certified to properly maintain the equipment.
ZeeBaaS designed the product line around this feature as a way to eliminate the worry and downtime of shipping a product back to the manufacturer. |
